The Daytona Beach area, known for its laid back beachy vibe and world class events and entertainment, has long been considered the perfect vacation destination. With its amazing array of festivals, concerts, arts/culture, races and rallies, there is no way for anyone to run out of things to do in Daytona Beach.
Known as “The Festival Capital of Florida,” Daytona Beach holds its annual Festa Italiana – a festival bursting at its seams with delicious food indigenous to Italy – in May. July is the month for the Celtic Festival, complete with Highland games, Irish dancing and the sound of bagpipes filling the air. There is plenty of family fun at Daytona’s Family Fest in October. Then, enjoy Greek cuisine, a Greek marketplace and traditional Greek music at the…you guessed it…Greek Festival in November. November is also time for the Halifax Art Festival, drawing over 40,000 visitors each year and brimming with everything from antiques to original artwork in a wide array of mediums.
If it is live music you long for, Daytona Beach can satisfy your cravings with the Daytona Blues Festival – a three-day May event that draws thousands of music loving spectators; and then oceanfront comes alive all summer long with free concerts at the iconic Daytona Beach Bandshell.
For those who love the mighty roar of engines, Daytona Beach is host to the infamous Daytona 500, which is held every February at Daytona International Speedway; and Bike Week, which has been dubbed “The Largest Motorcycle Event” and has grown to over 500,000 motorcyclists in search of high octane fun!
The holidays are also a magical time. On Thanksgiving weekend, Daytona Beach holds the largest classic car show and swap meet in the United States – the Turkey Run. Then, Daytona Beach rings in the New Year with an extravagant New Year’s Eve celebration on Main Street.
