Air travel has become more congested and less convenient, but there are some things that you can do to ease your burden and make your trip as an airline passenger more pleasant.
I’ve lived in New Smyrna Beach for ten years now (Can I just say, “Yay”?), so I travel by air pretty frequently to visit my family and friends up North. One thing I have noticed is that, much like a movie theater, you never know how cold (or stuffy) your airplane might be. Subsequently, I always make sure to bring a light jacket or sweater. Most likely you will need it on your vacation anyway and it saves suitcase space if you carry it on board.
Speaking of suitcase space, you’ll want to pack smart. If you are just staying for a long weekend, you may just want a carry-on bag. That way you can just hop off and start your vacation right away without waiting around at the baggage carousel. Just be sure to compare the price between checked bags and carry-ons when you book your flight, as certain airlines are getting pretty sneaky – sometimes pricing carry-ons higher than checked bags. I know!
Also compare airlines and airports for pricing. For example, if you are vacationing at The Sandpiper in New Smyrna Beach, you can fly into Daytona, Sanford or Orlando airports. Booking in advance also tends to save on the cost of your flight; and if you are flexible with your flight timing, that can help too.
Don’t forget earbuds, a book or some other type of entertainment to help you effortlessly pass the time. Then, allow your ideal vacation to take flight at The Sandpiper in New Smyrna Beach!
