There is an inexhaustible amount of reasons to visit New Smyrna Beach. Here is one that is particularly delightful…
“Images: A Festival of the Artist,” presented by Atlantic Center for the Arts, was held this year January 29 – 31 in Historic Downtown New Smyrna Beach, which is normally when it’s held each year. The goal is to present the arts in New Smyrna Beach at the highest level possible…and that it does.
With live music, demonstrations, a student art exhibit, face painting and free interactive art projects geared specifically to children, the Images Festival is fun for the whole family. Visitors can stroll through our lovely beachside town and peruse fine art till their heart’s content. Last year alone, the Images Festival hosted 247 artists from 32 states and Canada.
There is also an Images Holiday Tour in early December, which kicks off the season with homes showcasing the charm and festive nature of New Smyrna Beach. Plus, shop for beautiful, creative gifts, handcrafted by talented local artists at the Images Holiday Boutique.
Atlantic Center for the Arts is a remarkable organization in New Smyrna Beach. As one of the most important artist-in-residence communities in the world, Atlantic Center for the Arts has provided three-week residencies where artists live, work and collaborate on painting, sculpture, dance, music, writing, theater and more since 1982.
You may of missed it this year, but Images: A Festival of the Artist, is definitely worth writing on your calendar for next year!
