We work hard all year, so we all want to get the most out of our vacations. Here are a few weather navigation tips to make the most of your Florida vacation…

Here on Central Florida’s majestic coast, we revel in the crystal clear waters of our pristine beaches, the palms swaying in the gentle breezes and the tangy smell of the fresh salt air. If you live here, you know that it feels like vacation year-round. If you are just visiting, you can make the most of your vacation by dressing for the weather.

Our winters are temperate, but they can come with chilly nights, so don’t forget to pack a jacket. Dressing in layers is also helpful as our warm, sunny days can transform into cooler nights while you are out and about.

To beat the heat, it is best to wear breathable materials like cotton; light colors work better than dark clothing that can make us feel hotter; and don’t forget about those pesky UV rays. A hat can not only provide a bit of welcome shade in the Florida heat; it can shield your face from sunburn.

Also keep in mind that Florida weather can be similar to tropical weather with brief afternoon rain showers that can materialize pretty quickly. If you can, it is always a good idea to be prepared with an umbrella or rain jacket just in case.
